Pingshan SkyShuttle Line 1, the first municipal SkyShuttle line in Shenzhen, meets residents’ needs for more convenient travel by connecting with Pingshan’s major cultural facilities, key industrial zones, and Metro stations.
The elevated rail line runs 8.51 kilometers with a total of 11 stations: Pingshan High-speed Railway Station, Zhanqian Road East, Culture Center, Pingshan Center, Zhongxinguoji (or SMIC), Bonded Area, Yanziling, Future City, Natural History Museum West, Longbei, and BYD North. Passengers can pay for their SkyShuttle fares via WeChat miniprogram “深圳云巴” or “深圳通+” or a physical Shenzhentong card.
The SkyShuttle rail transit system, independently developed by BYD, is battery powered and fully autonomous. The SkyShuttle’s stations are equipped with facial recognition self-service ticket machines, and support various ticket checking methods. The stylish appearance of the SkyShuttle was designed by BYD’s chief designer — Wolfgang Egger, a world-renowned auto designer. Its body looks like that of a rising dragon, an adaptation of a classic Chinese figure.
Recently, five pocket parks have been built along the SkyShuttle Line 1 route. The parks, namely Yunbo (near Zhanqian Road East), Yundong (near Zhongxinguoji Station), Yunduan (near Bonded Area), Yunlu (near Yanziling) and Yunxiao (BYD North), each with a different theme, offer leisure and exercise spaces and facilities to residents, creating a beautiful view for SkyShuttle passengers.
