Kengzi Subdistrict and Longtian Subdistrict in Pingshan District have secured spots among the prestigious 2024 Top 500 Vibrant Subdistricts, as announced by the China Center for Information Industry Development (CCID) on June 26.

Kengzi Subdistrict, home to the renowned Shenzhen National Hi-Tech Zone’s Pingshan Park, boasts the esteemed national-level New Energy Automobile Industrial Park and the State Biological Industrial Base. Over the years, it has flourished into a hub for industry leaders like BYD and Sanofi Pasteur, defining a new industrial landscape focused on biopharmaceuticals, new energy vehicles, and cutting-edge information technology. These enterprises not only bolster Shenzhen's manufacturing sector but also drive Pingshan towards manufacturing excellence.

Longtian Subdistrict, hosting the largest number of companies and industrial parks in Pingshan, serves as the location for the Shenzhen Pingshan Comprehensive Bonded Zone. This dynamic area accommodates over 1,000 industrial, mining, commercial and trading enterprises, including 300 enterprises with an annual revenue from their main business of 20 million yuan or more. With a strong emphasis on semiconductor and new energy sectors, Longtian thrives with the prosperous development of 65 semiconductor enterprises, including industry giants like SMIC and Honor.

Established in 2000, CCID, a public institution under China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, comprises 18 research institutes, overseeing vital business centers like the China Software Testing Center and the China Electronic Science and Technology Exchange Center, along with managing a portfolio of over 20 wholly-owned or holding companies.

The selection of the 2024 Top 500 Vibrant Subdistricts involved an extensive review of 8,343 subdistricts across China, excluding those in municipalities, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan. Criteria encompassing economic vitality, innovation vigor, and consumption dynamism were instrumental in the selection process. Guangdong has a total of 141 subdistricts that have been selected in the CCID’s 2024 Top 500 Vibrant Subdistricts list.
